Mission of the Zeta Beta Charitable Foundation

The mission of the Zeta Beta Charitable Foundation is to promote scholarship, academic achievement, provision of resources and advocacy to the Black and Urban community.

Continuing efforts of the Foundation have been focused on Black and Urban Education, Entrepreneurship Training, Trade introduction and growing resources and partnerships to aggressively attack the lack of innovation, achievement, preparation often found in these communities. These initiatives will be manifested through the 360 Educational Initiative.

Some current programmatic efforts include mentorship based efforts to maximize the human capital found in school systems that educate Black Males and prepare them for future academic, trade, entrepreneurial, workplace and corporate success. A primary focus of this urban initiative is the Dick Gregory Academic Achievement, The Striving Youth Scholarship, Foundational Scholarship Award and the Post-Secondary Scholarship Award for secondary and post secondary  youth who wish to broaden their abilities to create and sustain fruitful and beneficial means of self-sufficiency and self-determination.

The foundation is also engaging into other programs that may provide a broader impact at the early and later phases of the lives of Black Men. Examples of these program initiatives are Professional Mentorship, Ending Youth Homelessness, College to Corporate Life, Economic/Leadership Development, Community Collaborations and Alpha 4 Vets Veteran Outreach Program.

The Foundation was commissioned in 2020 by the Alumni brothers of the Zeta Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. to serve as the funding engine for the philanthropic programs and initiatives of the Zeta Beta Chapter and other state and nationwide community building efforts. Toward that effort, the foundation is focused on endowment creation, corporate and individual charitable fundraising and programming development to impact local, national, and global communities.
